2026 has been seeing several anniversaries in aviation, among them United Airlines’ own centenary. The United States are also celebrating its 250th anniversary this year, and this summer, United unveiled a stunning "Stars and Stripes" paint scheme to celebrate the U.S.’s birthday on a Boeing 737-800 as well as on a 787-10 Dreamliner – the first U.S. carrier to apply an anniversary scheme to a widebody aircraft.
