TAP Air Portugal Airbus A340-300

Strategically placed in Southwestern Europe and with historic ties to South America, Portugal has become the gateway between the two continents. TAP has made good use of the country’s geographic position and has steadily expanded its long-haul fleet in the last decades. Four A340 were operated on long-distance routes from 1994 to 2019, replacing the Lockheed TriStar which had been in service since 1973. TAP today operates 22 A330 aircraft, clearly showing the growth the airline has experienced since the A340 became the flagships of the fleet.
