The Air Force of Spain is one of the most important customers of the modern and versatile transport, taking delivery of the first operational plane in November 2016. In May 2021, the tenth of no less than 27 A400M destined for Spain reached the 31st Wing. The following year, Spain celebrated forty years of NATO affiliation. Together with other aircraft of the Ejército del Aire, T.23-08 received a special anniversary logo on the huge stabilizer. Since 1982, Spain has been a member of the transatlantic alliance, proving their commitment to the alliance by routinely participating in numerous international missions.
